Petra has been practicing yoga since 2004. She has received authorization by Manju Pattabhi Jois to teach the Primary, Intermediate, and Advanced series of Ashtanga yoga. As a teacher in Prague since 2012 (before she thought and assisted Ashtanga yoga in UK), hundreds of pupils have passed through Petra‘s hands, and she has also assisted Manju Jois with seminars and teacher trainings.
At the age of 17, Petra had an accident, where she injured her spine, and couldn’t walk for about two months, it was hard for her to hold her spine straight for several years. Daily yoga practice put her back to her feet. It led her to study yoga more deeply and she has travelled around the world to study with Manju Pattabhi Jois and later with Nancy Gilgoff.
Petra dedicated herselve to uphold the classical tradition of yoga through her own practice and share her experience and passion with others. She respects the lineage of wisdom passed down to her from her teachers. She teaches yoga with a holistic approach, where yoga does not only happen on the yoga mat.
Petra is certified EFT therapist, devotes herself to Bach flower remedies, which are an alternative or complementary treatment that is used for emotional problems and pain. She also studied Ayurveda and is studying Astrology. When she lived in England, she devoted herself to children with different kind of disorders and cerebral palsy. She is also a certified HLC 2 (Holistic Lifestyle Coach). Petra graduated in economics, she opened and ran the first barefoot shoe store in the Czech Republic.
Above all, she is a mother. As Manju Jois says: “Family is the biggest yoga.” Motherhood (Alexander 2016 and Cyril 2018) deepened Petra’s knowledge of yoga and with Manju’s blessing, she began to capture the unique wisdom of Ashtanga yoga, which she brings to wider audience in her book Ashtanga Yoga in Pregnancy. Petra is also working on "The Art of Adjustments in Ashtanga Yoga".
